New Year
The theme of the second transnational meeting was New Year. 2 students and 2 teachers from every school joined it: the teachers who were active in the eTwinning project and the students who participated in the theatre workshops. This mobility was focused on "Past tenses", "Traditions" and "Celebrations" in English Lessons, Drama, and Evaluation. The project activities were integrated in the normal curricula of the involved schools.The mobility included sharing games related to "Traditions" and "Celebrations", games that were prepared at each partner school and played. During the meeting, the students created and performed plays related to the above-mentioned topics.
Two Methodologies adopted during the activities were Total Physical Response and Communicative Approach. While teaching English with games, the partners used Total Physical Response.
While performing the plays, they used a Communicative Approach.
The timetable of the mobility:
Day 1: Arrival, Introductions of the countries, cities, schools, teachers, and students, Writing scripts in mixed teams, Visit of the city of Belfort: historical museum + Lion.
Day 2: Playing games prepared by the partners: topic New Year and Winter Celebrations, Writing scripts in mixed teams: finishing + preparing performance,
Visit of the city of Belfort : Actionbound.
Day 3: Visit of Fortwenger (gingerbread factory ) and gingerbread man workshop: discovering the food tradition linked with Christmas, Trip to Colmar Christmas market (Christmas traditions).
Day 4: Rehearsal of the plays, Preparing the performances, Visit of Peugeot Adventure museum, Discovering Christmas traditions: Montbeliard Christmas market.
Day 5: Performing the plays, Creating videos, Evaluation, questionnaires, and certificate ceremony
Since the theme of the New Year is dealt with in English lesson books, both games and plays about New Year were next integrated in the normal activities of the involved schools.
